Complete Denture Treatment Protocol
Complete Denture is a dental prosthesis that replaces all of the natural dentition and associated structures of the maxilla or mandible. It is entirely supported by tissues – mucous membrane, connective tissues and underlying bone.
Treatment protocol of Complete Dentures.
Clinical Appointment 1
Preliminary Impression of the denture base supporting tissues with stock impression trays and modelling compund.
Construction of custom resin impression trays.
Clinical appointment 2
Final impression with the individual resin impression trays and rubber base impression material.
Construction of record / occlusion rims on gypsum master casts.
Clinial appointment 3
Record the approximate hinge axis with a facbow. Adjust the height of the occlusion rims to the required occlusal vertical dimension. Record the relationship between maxilla and mandible in centric relation. Record the mandibular border movements in the horizontal plane with a Gothic Arch Tracer.
Setting of denture teeth in bilateral balanced articulation. Cuspless posterior teeth are used in high atrophy of the alveolar bone. Cusp posterior teeth can be used for low atrophy of the alveolar bone.

Processing of dentures.
