Alumina Fixed Partial Denture or all ceramic crown and bridge / restoration is significantly more esthetically pleasing than porcelain fused to metal (PFM) restorations. Gray line that is often visible under PFM crown and bridge is eliminated in all-ceramic restoration. All-ceramic substructure preserves the luminosity of the underlying remaining tooth resulting in more natural appearance, as compared to PFM crown and bridge.
Under very bright light, Porcelain Fused to Metal FPD shows shadow effect from the metal.
Porcelain Fused to Metal Fixed Partial Denture, which is the final restoration, was delivered from dental lab. The final restoration is expected to blend imperceptibly as it exhibits the characteristics of natural dentition.
Porcelain FPD Final Restoration
Interim restoration or provisionals which was created that closely mimicked the projected final restoration – Porcelain Fused to Metal Fixed Partial Denture, in form, shading and surface textures. It was placed after tooth prep appointment and it will be worn by the patient until the final restoration is delivered. Interim FPD is necessary for protection of the abutment teeth, maintenance of space, appearance and to condition the patient for FPD placement.
Temporary Crown and Bridge

Tooth number 21 was prepared to receive a dental crown.
Porcelain fused to metal crown and bridge will be constructed for a 26 year old female patient. Missing teeth are 11, 12, 21 and 22 FDI Two-Digit Notation (upper right central incisor and lateral incisor, upper left central incisor and lateral incisor). The photos were taken after oral prophylaxis and tooth prep of 13 and 23 were performed.

Upper or maxillary removable partial denture in acrylic denture base with gold mesh. Remaining teeth are 11, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 24 and 26, FDI Two-Digit Notation. Natura Tone is the brand of denture teeth used. The patient is 26 year old female.
Upper RPD Occlusal Side
An upper removable partial denture with flexible framework was fabricated for an implant patient. This temporary flexible RPD was constructed to replace the immediate upper removable partial denture which the patient used during the healing of flap created in RTR placement. The new RPD will be worn by the patient for 6 to 9 months – healing period. The patient was advised not to wear this temporary flexible RPD as often as possible. The second surgery or placement of the dental implants will follow after 6 to 9 months. Natura Tone is the brand of denture teeth used.
Flexible Upper RPD Occlusal Side
Maxillary or upper almost full removable partial denture with gold mesh in acrylic denture base. Remaining teeth are 26 and 27, FDI Two-Digit Notation (upper left first molar and second molar). Brand of denture teeth used is Cosmo. This denture was fabricated for a 65 year old male patient.
